Where do I upload the files for my website?

You upload your website files into your public_html directory, which is located in your user home directory at /home/cPanel Username/public_html.

Your user home directory at /home/cPanel Username/ contains many other files that are necessary for the correct operation of your website and hosting account. Do not delete or amend any of these files as they may stop your website from functioning correctly.

The main file for your website homepage must be named "index" with a recognised file extension such as index.html, index.htm or index.php.

When we created your website account we will have also created a temporary "holding page" for you named index.php. For your website to display properly you will need to delete or overwrite this file.
